Key words: beta-correction principle, noble metal, o-sulfobenzeneazo rodanine (SBAR)
The updated operation for the determination of properties of metal complexes
was devised. As an example the reactions were studied between the three
noble matals (NM): Ag(I), Au(III) and Pt(IV) and o-sulfobenzeneazo rhodanine
(SBAR) in acidic solution. The b-correction
method was used to establish the equation for the determination of properties
of NM complex solutions instead of the ordinary spectrophotometry because
it was able to eliminate the interference of the excess of the ligand in
the reaction system. The metal to ligand ratios, the stepwise real molar
absorptivity (e) and stepwise or cumulative
stability constant (K) of NM-SBAR complexes are presented in this paper.
The recommended method is more acceptable in theory and simpler in execution
than the classical method.
