A simple and fast method for the determination of ranitidine in plasma
samples is described.Thie method is based on plasma deproteinization
in the presence of trichloroacetic acid, and determination by HPLC-DAD,
on a XDB C18 column, at 320 nm. Elution
was isocratic, using a mobile phase containing 60% phosphate buffer 20
mmol l-1 (pH 7.3) and 40% methanol, with
flow rate of 1 ml min-1, at 40 oC.
Applied to a bioequivalence study, this method reaches a limit of determination
of 15 ng ml-1 ranitidine in plasma samles,
for an injection volume of 50 ml.
