Educational and
professional goals:

The ability to use the basic chemical programs and databases. The ability to compose a simple computer program as well as to modify the existing codes.

Course description:

Editing of mathematical equations. Editing the chemical organic structures. Use of the basic chemical databases. The use of the science literature databases. HyperChem scientific package - its use for construction of chemical compounds, their visualisation and for chemical calculations.
Biodesigner and Rasmol packages - their use for visualisation of biomolecules.
The construction of algorithms in simple mathematical problems. Elements of the programming languages C and Fortran. Coding of the simple problems, their compilations and execution.
The problems of the stability of algorithms - simple examples.

Required background:


Ability of the computer use, knowledge of the Windows system.
