Educational and
professional goals:

Introduction to advanced instrumentation for chemical analysis

Course description:

The lecture covers basic concepts of mechanization and automation of analytical measurements. Basic types of discrete mono- and multi-component chemical analyzers, titrators and package analyzers are presented. Various trends of miniaturization of chemical instrumentation are discussed for laboratory and field measurements. Centrifugal and parallel analyzers for clinical analysis, as well as robotic setups for mechanization of laboratory procedures are discussed. Theoretical principles, instrumentation and numerous methods of flow analysis are discussed including continuous flow analyzers, injection methods, and process analyzers.
