Teaching Division:

Division of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry

Educational and
professional goals:

Acquaintance of the students with modern aspects of chemistry of nanostructured materials.

Course description:

Synthesis of nanostructured materials is a rapidly growing field of chemistry. In most cases we have here to do with inorganic materials. Principal chemical approaches to the synthesis of nanomaterials will be discussed and, in particular, the sol-gel method as well as special methods dedicated to the formation of thin films.

The second part of the course will focus on selected applications of the nanomaterials in solar photovoltaic/photoelectrochemical cells, electrochromic devices, sensors and batteries.
