Electrochemistry and Physical Organic Chemistry
General: | Physicochemical properties and reaction mechanisms of radical ions formed at electrodes during electrochemical processes of organic molecules (most often pi-electron compounds) investigated by electroanalytical methods as well as the spectroscopy in the UV and vis range. |
Particular problems: | (i) Solvent and supporting electrolyte effects on kinetics of the bond cleavage of radical anions (ii) Competition between the stepwise and concerted electron transfer/bond breaking reactions (iii) Solvent effects on kinetics of the protonation of radical anions (iv) Kinetics of heterogeneous electron transfer in non-aqueous solvents (v) Use of non-typical solvents in electrochemical measurements, e.g., anisole (vi) Electrochemistry of centropolyindanes - topologicaly non-planar compounds, their promotors and derivatives (in cooperation with prof. Dietmar Kuck from Bielefeld, Germany) |
