professional goals:

The aim of this tutorial is that students gain experience in problem solving and performing calculations in physical chemistry.

Course description:

Thermodynamics. The first law of thermodynamics: Internal energy; Enthalpy; Molar Heat Capacities; Hess’ law; Kirchhoff’s equation; Ideal gas expansion. The second law of thermodynamics: Entropy calculations; Entropy for chemical reactions. Free energy. Thermodynamic relations. Chemical equilibrium - Equilibrium constants.
