professional goals:

Knowledge of methods and laboratory techniques used for mixture separation, identification and structure establishment of organic compounds.

Course description:

Identification of simple organic compounds with chemical and chromatographic methods. Use of chemical and chromatographic methods for separating, determining purity and identification of components of mixtures of organic compounds. Use of spectroscopic data to establish structure of organic compounds (spectrum analysis).

Required background:

Organic chemistry basics.
Organic Chemistry I (lecture and laboratory).

Form of assessment:


Test and reports.

Remarks:

Obligatory for the Faculty of Chemistry students (level of choice).
