professional goals:

Students will gain basic knowledge of chemical processes in the large industrial scale and also main branches, processes and raw materials used in Polish chemical industry.

Course description:

Chemical technology - its scientific goal and its relation to other scientific disciplines. Physicochemical background of technological processes. Technical, economical and environmental factors in large-scale processes. Elements of process engineering. Chemical process control. Industrial catalysis. Natural raw materials for chemical industry. Selected technology of inorganic and organic products. Elements of hydrocarbon polymers chemistry. Examples of large-scale plastic production processes. New materials technology. Environmental impact of chemical industry processes.

Required background:


Courses in physical chemistry, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.
