Educational and
professional goals:

Designed for students who wish to acquire knowledge in numerical and statistical methods as well as to learn the skills which are necessary to solve computational problems of chemical sciences.

Course description:

A series of numerical problems related to chemical processes to be solved with the use of methods presented in Numerical and Statistical Methods in Chemistry. II. Statistical Methods. The problems will be solved with the use of a freely accessible software of computer algebra (e.g. SciLab) as well as with the SAS Institute suite of programs designed for advanced statistical computing.

Required background:


Mathematics, physics and chemistry (1st and 2nd year chemistry).
