Organic Chemistry

Educational and
professional goals:

By the end of the course, the student should have an understanding of the fundamental concepts of supramolecular chemistry and the knowledge about examples of natural and artificial supramolecular systems and should also possess the ability to design new molecular receptors.

Course description:

This lecture, after introduction of the fundamental concepts of supra-molecular chemistry will move to the description of intermolecular interactions. Next, the design, synthesis and applications of cation-binding receptors will be presented. Then, receptors and sensors for anions and neutral molecules will be covered. The last part of the lecture will show the most spectacular examples of self assembling systems.
