This equipment uses phase boundary properties for space arrangement of individual molecules and their aggregates, which allows to transfer the obtained structures onto solid substrates.
Besides fundamental studies which have to do with formation of molecular arrangements and particle self-organization, it helps to control and modify surfaces of solid substrates (isolators, semiconductors and conductors) in a way to obtain the desired properties, coming from using functional molecular structures. In combination with other surface science techniques (Kelvin probe, Brewster’s angle microscopy, ellipsometry) it is used to construct surface nanostructures and biomimetic systems. |
